Scott Rhodes, CFA

Principal

It’s both exciting and daunting when moving through significant life changes, such as the sale of a business, death of spouse, receipt of an inheritance, a divorce, imminent plans to retire, or even just changing investment advisors. Scott approaches these events with the sensitivity and care these conversations require. Scott is skilled at identifying and helping clients capitalize on tax savings opportunities and improved investment strategies that these situations often present.

Scott chose to work with NWCM after managing a boutique wealth management firm for 18 years where he advised clients, chaired the investment committee, and was responsible for developing tax-efficient investment models for client portfolios. These models included investments focused on “impact investing” and “environmental, social, and governance” a/k/a “socially responsible investing.”

Before his work as an investment advisor, Scott was with the National Association of Securities Dealers for ten years as a securities brokerage examiner focusing on portfolio analysis and investment trading practices. Prior to Scott’s work at the NASD, he was a manager of a consulting firm specializing in securities fraud litigation. In this capacity, he provided counsel to attorneys and stock brokerage firms regarding settlement structuring and damage calculations.

Over the years, Scott has provided expert witness testimony in connection with numerous investment disputes and has served as an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Association. His professional memberships include the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Seattle. Scott is a Gonzaga University honors graduate (BBA finance).
