As our Senior Investment Advisor and Partner, Scott enjoys using his knowledge and experience to assist his clients in pursuing significant financial benefits over time. He is skilled in identifying and helping clients capitalize on tax and improved investment strategies arising from life changes, such as a business sale, the receipt of an inheritance, the imminent plans to retire, the death of spouse, a divorce, or even just changing investment advisors.
Scott joined NWCM to expand its wealth management practice in Washington. Prior to Scott’s work at NWCM, he was a partner at a Seattle wealth management firm for 18 years where he advised clients, chaired the investment committee and developed tax-efficient investment models for client portfolios. Some of the models Scott developed focused on impact investing and environmental, social, and governance. Scott has earned his Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Prior to his work as an investment advisor, Scott spent 10 years with the National Association of Securities Dealers as a stock brokerage firm regulator where his job was to conduct compliance examinations. He also specialized in portfolio analysis, and stock and bond trading. He began his career at a consulting firm that focused on securities fraud litigation working with a team that provided counsel to attorneys and stock brokerage firms regarding settlement structuring and damage calculations.
Over the years, Scott has also provided expert witness testimony in connection with numerous investment disputes and has served as an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Association. His professional memberships include the CFA® Institute and the CFA® Society of Seattle. Scott is a Gonzaga University honors graduate (BBA Finance). Scott has earned the Seattle Five Star Wealth Manager award 11 out of the past 12 years.
